Welcome to Alderwood Early Childhood Center

AECC Fall 
Welcome to the 2012 - 2013 school year. 
 
This will be the eleventh year that the preschool program has been located at the Alderwood Early Childhood Center (AECC).  The primary focus of AECC is to provide educational services for children with disabilities.  There is also one Snohomish County Head Start preschool classroom and one classroom for the Edmonds Community College Co-op Preschool.   There are approximately 325 preschool children who attend AECC.  
 
Developmental Preschool classrooms provide learning experiences for all ability levels. Classroom teams focus on social/emotional development, communication, problem solving, preacademic concepts and physical development. Educational therapy and consultative services are provided by Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists. Educational support is also offered to children with disabilities in community preschools and child care programs.
