Senior Chromebook Buy Back Program

As part of our 1:1 Chromebook take home program, Edmonds District will offer graduating seniors the option to purchase (1) Chromebook and (1) charger for $20.00*. ALL fines and fees must be paid before you can purchase a Chromebook.

When and Where? Monday: July 9, 2018 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday: July 10, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Wednesday: July 18, 2018 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM Thursday: July 19, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM Friday: July 27, 2018 from 12:00 - 4:00 PM Edmonds School District Educational Service Center Boardroom (B) 20420 68th Ave W Lynnwood, WA 98036 How will this work? The graduated student will show up to Educational Service Center at the designated time in July, pay, and be issued a CTL model Chromebook and charger. If the graduated student is not able to attend they can send a parent or guardian in their place. District staff will be verifying onsite that the student graduated from the Edmonds School District in 2018 and that any fees and fines have been paid in full. Chromebooks will be removed from the District network and security protocols at the time of purchase; a District login will no longer be required to use the device.

How much will the Chromebook cost? $20 (While supplies last) $10 for those on free/reduced lunch


Who is eligible to purchase a Chromebook? ONLY current year graduating Seniors can purchase a Chromebook through this program.

NOTE: All outstanding fees must be paid before a student can purchase a Chromebook.


Will Internet filtering still be applied to the Chromebook after graduation? District internet filtering will no longer be applied once the device is removed from the district inventory and policies.


Do I get a warranty with the Chromebook when I buy it? No, the Edmonds School District does not include a warranty with the used Chromebook. It is be sold “As-Is”.


Will the District still monitor my computer? Purchased Chromebooks will be removed from district inventory and policies following graduation in late June.

 

How will students log on to the Chromebook after graduation? A district login will no longer be required once purchased.

 

How will students transfer data from student/school account to their personal account? Information on transferring files from school accounts to personal accounts is available at "Google Drive Export".

 

What happens if something isn't working right in the summer? If district policies, login, filtering do not seem to be removed correctly from the device by July 1, students may contact the Chromebook Support Center at 425-431-1211 for assistance.
