Lynndale Elementary, with additional financial support from friends and businesses in our larger community, boasts an After School program that stands alone as a tuition-free “extra” open to all students. No fees, a healthy snack, and a guaranteed school bus ride home mean no one is excluded. Classes are taught by certificated teachers, or by community volunteers supervised by certificated teachers. The class offerings are as rich and varied as the interests of the students who enroll in them, and include both enrichment and academic opportunities.

Funding for After School has been severely impacted by budget cuts and a challenging economy. Historically, the program has been funded by a patchwork quilt combination of grants, donations, PTA support and careful use of federal Title I dollars. Every one of those sources has suffered cuts and losses that could affect our ability to serve our students on the same level as previous years, but our extended community continues to come through for all the kids and families of Lynndale.

Our greatest need is funding. We would love to hear from you if you are able to help with funding, or with soliciting funding from workplaces or community organizations.

Thank you for helping us keep the dream alive!
