Peer Mediators are students who have applied for and completed a training program that helps them serve as problem solvers on the playground. Supervised by our school counselor, Johnna Stewart, the peer mediators learn techniques that help them help other kids resolve small issues on the playground before they escalate into big problems. Peer mediators serve for one week at a time, and their names are announced during morning announcements. The peer mediators are also general helpers on the playground, doing things like accompanying students to the health room if they suffer a scraped knee. Peer mediators are a very positive presence on Lynndale’s playground!
