Childcare in times of crisis

Childcare

Childcare services began on Tuesday, March 24, for families of active district students whose parent/guardian work in healthcare or are first responders*. The district appreciates the partnership with Right At School to provide this essential service. Our nursing, custodial, food and nutrition, and administrative staff have collaborated to provide this service safely for all involved.

While Right At School is not able to provide childcare at this time for families not in healthcare or who are first responders, we want to encourage those in need of childcare to reach out to other community partners.

*Members of the healthcare workforce, as defined by the Washington State Medical Association, includes people who work in any setting where healthcare services, long-term care, long-term services and supports, or personal care are delivered. This includes, but is not limited to, hospitals, clinics, behavioral health centers, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, adult family homes, and personal homes.

First responders, as defined in RCW 70.54.430, includes firefighters, law enforcement officers, and emergency medical personnel, as licensed or certificated by the state.
