City of Edmonds looking to send students to Sister City in Japan
Posted on 11/25/2019

The City of Edmonds Sister City Commission is looking forward to sending a delegation of up to 10 students, ages 14-18, to their Sister City of Hekinan, Japan, this summer. These student exchanges are part of the mission of the Edmonds Sister City Commission which is “to promote international communication and understanding through exchanges of people, ideas, and culture” and they have been taking place for over 25 years.

The Edmonds students will visit Hekinan from July 18 to July 31. While in Hekinan, students will stay with host families. They will then host the Japanese students in their homes from Aug. 5 to Aug. 17. Students and their families will be financially responsible for their roundtrip airfare, as well as a portion of the cost for chaperones.

Edmonds area students who are interested in participating are encouraged to visit the Commission’s website for more information. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis until Friday, Feb. 7, 2020.
