2021-22 School Year Student Intent Form

Process to request a change



We continue to receive requests from families to change student enrollment from either in-person to fully online, or from fully online to in-person.

With the everchanging COVID-19 pandemic, we have remained nimble to do what’s best for kids, and have offered enrollment changes in the order they have been received.

Moving forward, we will process change requests periodically for specific dates of enrollment:

  • All current and continuing requests will be processed on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 with a goal of placing students for a Monday, Nov. 8, 2021 start date.
  • Student Intent Form Change Requests received between Oct. 30, 2021 and Jan. 21, 2022, will be processed Jan. 21 with a goal of placing students for a Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 start date.
Important information to know if requesting a change

The Edmonds School District will offer an in-person educational experience for every student who chooses; however, the district cannot guarantee it will be at the student’s neighborhood school. 

Specialized programs (Challenge, IB, AP, STEM, etc.) are not available in the online learning program.

The Edmonds K-8 Online Academy and Edmonds eLearning Academy are separate schools and are not associated with other schools in the district.   

Edmonds School District’s process to request a change
1) Families must fill out the request to change form: Student Intent Change Request
2) District staff will review received requests on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021 and then on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022
3) The district will work to find a placement for the student and inform the family of their options, considering space and proper staffing.
