Madrona Student Interpreter Requests

Welcome to another school year at Madrona K-8! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Kaylee Yeakel, and I am one of the interpreters on staff at Madrona. I also coordinate and schedule interpreters for Madrona students.

Requesting ASL Interpreters Requesting an interpreter is easy! All you need to do is click the Google Form link for our Interpreter Request Form and fill it out!

Interpreter Request Form link: http://bit.ly/mainterprequest

Once you click “Submit,” your request will come directly to me, and I’ll get to work on setting up your interpreter. When an interpreter has been scheduled, you will receive a confirmation email from me with the interpreter’s name.

When to Request Interpreters for events and classes during the school day (9:20-3:50) are scheduled by the school. However, for any event that happens before or after school hours, it’s very important that we receive a request from families! We want to make sure an interpreter is always available when needed. :) Examples of when you should request an interpreter:

● After-school sports

● Before- and after-school enrichment classes (for example, Move60, Bricks4Kids, STEM Club)

● Special events such as BearScare, Primary/Intermediate/Middle School Night, Art Walk, and JumpRope for Heart

How soon should I send my request? The best answer is as soon as possible! The earlier I receive your request, the earlier I can schedule an interpreter! Please submit interpreter requests no later than 2 full school days before the event/class in question. Requests submitted on Friday afternoons after 1:00pm will be reviewed on Monday mornings.

Questions?? Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions! I am available by email at Yeakelk607@edmonds.wednet.edu. If you would prefer to chat over VP/phone, please send me an email and we can set up a time.

Thank you, and best wishes for a wonderful school year!

Please contact Kaylee Yeakel with any questions regarding student interpreter request.
